Ramos Pinto was founded in 1880 by Adriano Ramos Pinto. Ever since, they’ve made exquisite ports. The house has been owned by changing generations of the Ramos Pinto family until 1990, when they sold the house to the french Champagne Louis Roederer.
In some cases, the sale of a port house can contribute to noticeable changes in quality. In this case, however, the quality has not been lowered. The new owners were convinced that the best way to run the Ramos Pinto company was to let the same family continue the work, that they have proved their skill with for generations. For this reason, the Ramos Pinto ports are still made by the same family.
On November 3rd 2026 at 7 pm we’re hosting a Ramos Pinto tasting. We’re being paid a visit by Nuno from Ramos Pinto, who will tell us about their exciting history and the way they produce their ports. During the tasting, you’ll be served 5 different Ramos Pinto ports and learn a lot about them by listening and tasting. Tickets can be found below.
